Bolton Wanderers Celebration Event

Monday 25 May

To mark Bolton Wanderers Football Club winning the League One play-off final and their promotion to the Championship, a special civic reception event will take place in Victoria Square outside Bolton Town Hall at 6pm on Monday 25 May.

The reception will provide an opportunity for the town to come together and celebrate a landmark moment for Bolton Wanderers, reflecting the pride and passion the club inspires across the community.

To allow for the event to take place, Le Mans Crescent and the surrounding streets will be closed.

Getting to Bolton Town Centre

The event is within a 10 minute walk of Bolton Interchange, which is well served by over 35 bus routes linking Bolton with other destinations across Greater Manchester.

Please note: As it is a Bank Holiday, frequency will be less than a normal weekday. Please use our journey planner to plan ahead.

Bus fare options

Adults will pay no more than £2 for a single bus journey, while a £5 1-day AnyBus Adult travelcard will cover unlimited bus travel within the 10 boroughs of Greater Manchester until 3.59am the following day. Child prices are £1 for a single bus journey or £2.50 for an AnyBus travelcard.

Taking the family? You can purchase our 1-day Bee Bus Family (off-peak) ticket for £9. This is valid for travel on Bee Network buses all day during Bank Holiday Monday.

Bolton rail station is well connected to other key stations in Manchester, including Oxford Road and Piccadilly.

It takes around 20 minutes from Manchester city centre to Bolton, with the station then a 10-minute walk from the event.

Please note: As it is a Bank Holiday, frequency will be less than a normal weekday. In addition, planned engineering works will take place on parts of the rail network.

There will be a number of road closures and parking suspensions around Bolton town centre in place between on Monday 25 May. You can check the full list of road closures before travelling, by visiting the above Road Closures module.

As a result, there will be increased congestion in and around the town centre. Please allow more time for your journey.

Parking

Due to Le Mans Crescent and the surrounding streets being closed, the nearest disabled parking will now be at Octagon Surface Car Park off Great Moor Street.

Bolton town centre has various designated parking across the town that are subject to charge, with the option to pre-book spaces in advance.

Going by bike? The cycle hub at Bolton Interchange is a safe and secure place to lock your bike. It is protected by CCTV and a swipe-card entry system. To use it, you will need to register and purchase a cycle hub membership, which will allow you access to other regional cycle hubs too
