Coronavirus: Bus information and advice

Updated: 5pm Sunday 5 April

Do not travel unless it is absolutely essential – stay at home, protect the NHS and save lives.

You must only make trips that are absolutely necessary for work, to get supplies, to care for others or for medical reasons.

Before making a journey, check with your operator as timetables are changing frequently.

Journeys and services which are supported by TfGM are continuing to operate as normal, where possible. However, please continue to check timetables regularly as services may change at short notice.

Local Link

The Government is advising against non-essential use of public transport. As people are already travelling less and we have fewer drivers available, some Local Link services (as well as other modes of transport) have started to be reduced.

Unfortunately due to driver shortage the following Local Link services are currently suspended:

  • East Bolton
  • Deane and Daubhill
  • Ramsbottom and Tottington

Please do not travel unless it is absolutely essential - stay at home.

Staff may query your journey if they think it may be for a non-essential purpose or if multiple people from the same household are leaving at once as TfGM is following and supporting government advice about social distancing.

Please note, while we are trying to spread passengers across all available vehicles there may be occasions where you have to share the vehicle with others, especially on busy work services.

Concessionary travellers can now travel before 9.30am at the concessionary rate as a temporary measure.

We will contact you personally if you have an existing booking that has been cancelled.

Please call 0161 244 1000 for further advice about your Local Link journey.
