Basic bike maintenance

Who's it for?

This is for you if you would like to learn how to look after you bike and carry out simple maintenance.

Sessions are open to those over the age of 12 when accompanied by an adult or 16 when unaccompanied.


How much does it cost?

The basic maintenance course is provided at the subsidised cost of £5.


What you'll learn

You will learn:

  • About the parts of your bike and what they do.
  • What to check before you ride.
  • How to adjust the saddle, handlebars, brakes and gears.
  • How to mend punctures.

Led by a cycle maintenance expert, you'll be in a small group with other beginners in a friendly, supportive atmosphere. It's a hands-on session which will give you the confidence and skills to keep your bike on the move.


What you need

It's best to bring your own bike to work on, but we can lend you one if necessary.

The sessions are held across Greater Manchester.
