Learn to Ride

Please note that at the moment we are only offering 1-2-1 and Family training – updates on all other courses will be provided in due course

Who's it for?

This is for you if you're new to cycling, or haven't ridden for many years. You might not even have a bike.

Sessions are open to those over the age of 12 (under 16s must be accompanied by an adult).

What you'll learn

Run by a qualified instructor, the course will give you the confidence to take the first step into cycling, at your own pace, starting from getting on your bike.

You'll be in a small group with other beginners in a quiet outdoor area and there's no pressure; come to as many sessions as it takes.

You'll learn how to:

  • Get on and off your bike.
  • Start and stop.
  • Steer and change speed.
  • Check your bike before you ride.

What you need

We provide a bike but you can bring your own if you prefer and wear whatever you feel comfortable to cycle in.

Where

Sessions are held across Greater Manchester.

Length of session

Each session lasts two hours.

What our attendees say

"Having encouragement and a space to practise cycling was very useful."

"I just want to say that you do a fantastic job and it has really given my nephew the confidence to ride a bike. Thank you so much."

"The trainer was absolutely fantastic!! He taught my son in no time at all and had the patience of a saint. I never thought my son would experience how cool riding a bike is and I was really emotional!! He taught my son in like half an hour it was amazing! I couldn't thank him enough."
