Safe urban driving for LGV and PCV drivers

Who's it for?

This is for you if you're a professional driver who wants to understand, and be more aware of, cyclists.

Why you should do it

This full-day session, run by qualified instructors, gives you the skills and awareness to be safe in traffic, around bikes and other vulnerable road-users, and to experience the road from a cyclist's point-of-view.
It is accredited by the Joint Approvals Unit for Periodic Training (JAUPT) and the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS), and can contribute to your Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).

What you'll learn

Through a mixture of conventional training, and by riding a bike out on the road, you will learn:

  • Awareness of risks to vulnerable road users.
  • How to assess danger situations and avoid accidents.
  • How to use your mirrors and avoid blind spots.
  • Highway code rules.
  • About the best lighting and reflective material.

What you need

We provide a bike and helmet but you can bring your own if you prefer.
