Help us learn more about how you travel

Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) is interested in initiating a new mobility concept in Manchester called Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS). Before we start to roll out MaaS, we would like to better understand your current travel behaviour as well as your attitudes towards using MaaS. This will allow us to design the best service possible.

What is MaaS?

Mobility-as-a-Service brings together all the different ways we travel into one, easy-to-use app. Imagine if you could book a train, hire a car and find the quickest walking route all in one place. It has the potential to make all our journeys simpler, quicker and cheaper and our transport network more efficient.

We're working with our partners to include all the different modes of travel available in Greater Manchester, so not just buses and trams, but bicycle, car hire, train, taxi and walking too.

We know that one of the reasons many people choose a car for trips is that its seen as 'the easy option' and so MaaS seeks to make public transport the even easier alternative, combining modes and different operators into one seamless journey.

What do we want from you?

We would like to invite you to fill-in this first-round survey and agree to provide a week’s worth of travel data so that we can understand how people are currently moving around Greater Manchester. You will need to register in order to participate. Once you have done this:

  1. Answer a questionnaire that takes between 15 and 20 minutes;
  2. Download the MaaS4EU app on your mobile phone and activate it. You should keep the app active on your phone for seven full days and it will take records of your travel patterns.
  3. Return to the online MaaS4EU user centre to verify the logged travel activities and provide some further details.

To reward your effort, we will enter all users who have completed the full three steps of the survey into a lottery to win one of:

• Ten high street shopping gift cards worth £20
• Eight high street shopping gift cards worth £50
• Four high street shopping gift cards worth £100

Please visit the website to see participating stores/chains and for full terms and conditions. It includes John Lewis, Debenhams, Boots, Halfords, Argos, River Island and other national high street shops. The winners will be contacted on June 15.

Should you require any assistance whilst filling in the survey itself, there is a live chat function which will enable you to talk to us about your issues and help you resolve them in real-time.

Full terms and conditions, including our privacy policy, are accessible on the survey page.
