Metrolink
Going to sing-along with Harry Styles?
Getting to Emirates Old Trafford by tram couldn’t be easier.
Trams on the Altrincham line operate to Old Trafford which is directly next to the stadium.
However, with so many people going to the concert, services will be very busy and you may want to walk to another stop before or after the concert to avoid the crowds.
There are several stops within a short walking distance of the venue.
- Firswood. A 10-minute walk away. Board an East Didsbury line or Manchester Airport line service from this stop.
- Wharfside. A 15-minute walk away.
- Exchange Quay. A 20-minute walk away. Board a tram on the Eccles line.

Not going to the concert?
Not going to the concert? If you can travel flexibly, board a Metrolink service before 4.30pm for a quieter trip with more space on board. Click here for the latest data showing when services are busy
Driving (to sing-along with Harry Styles)
Journey times will increase on A56 Chester Road, Trafford Road, Talbot Road, Wharfside Way and surrounding areas before and after the concert.
Fans can also park their cars at Old Trafford Football ground, a ten-minute walk away from Emirates Old Trafford - simply pay on arrival.
Driving (but not going to the concert)
Traffic on the roads around the stadium will be significant, especially after the concert.
With Barry Manilow hitting the stage at the AO Arena (doors open at 6pm- curfew at 10.30pm), we are expecting Manchester city centre to also get busy, which is going to lead to increased journey times.
If you can travel flexibly, re-time your journey in the area to before 4.30pm or after 11pm to avoid fans arriving and departing from the concert, or re-route to avoid the congestion.
Walking
Old Trafford is easily accesible on foot from local areas - beat the traffic and take a stroll to and from the concert.
We are encouraging everyone who is within 30 minutes of the stadium to make their journey to the concert on foot.
