Manchester City host Wycombe Wanderers in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday 21 September (KO 7.45pm).

If you're travelling to watch the fixture our key advice is:

  • Expect the roads around the ground to be busy from 5pm as people drive home from work and fans travel to the stadium. If you have to drive to the game, allow additional time for your journey.
  • A six-minute Metrolink service will be operating to the Etihad on the Ashton line but you should also consider walking to the ground if you are able to.

Metrolink services to the match

A fast and frequent tram service runs straight to the stadium’s dedicated tram stop Etihad Campus on the Ashton line.

The journey from Manchester Piccadilly station to the stadium takes less than 10 minutes.

After the game, trams will not serve Holt Town and Velopark until crowds have cleared from the Etihad Campus stop.

Tickets

Supporters should use contactless for payments, it's a quick and easy way to pay. Just remember to touch-in and touch-out!

If you're travelling by Metrolink as a family, you can save money with our family travelcard which allows travel for one to three children (aged under 16) accompanied by one or two adults.

Not going to the match?

Please be aware that Metrolink services will be busier between 5pm and 7.45pm before the match and from 9.30pm to 11pm after the match. This means it's likely you may have to queue to board a service at certain stops during this period.

Consider re-timing your journey to travel outside of the busier times if you can.

Park and Ride

Park and Ride facilities will be open, are free and Metrolink services go direct to the Etihad Stadium.

Two Park and Ride sites are conveniently located close to M60 Junction 23.

From these stops the journey time to the stadium is less than 25 minutes.

Walking

The Etihad Stadium is easily accessed on foot from all local areas.

We are encouraging everyone who is within 30 minutes of the stadium to make their journey to the match on foot

There is a safe, well-lit and signposted walking route from Manchester Piccadilly Station to the stadium. Follow the Etihad Campus banners and ‘City Link’ signs to the ground, with the walk taking approximately 25 minutes. Click here for the walking map.

Bus services

On match day, the 216 is the most frequent service which runs directly to the stadium. You'll find the service at the north side of Piccadilly Gardens in Manchester city centre.

Services are expected to be busier from 5.30pm prior to and after 9pm following the game. You you may prefer to walk to stadium which is only a 25 minute walk from the city centre.

The 53, 76, 217, 219, 230 and 231 bus services also serve the Etihad Stadium, most within a short stroll of the ground.

Driving

Journey times will increase on Mancunian Way (eastbound), Ashton New Road, Ashton Old Road, Hyde Road and Alan Turing Way two hours before the match.

If you’re travelling to the game or heading home from work, take an alternative route or re-time your journey to before 5pm or after 9pm to avoid the delays.

A strictly-enforced resident parking scheme is in place on the streets around the ground, which is made clear through on-street signage.

Several roads around the stadium may be closed for approximately 20 minutes after the match to allow pedestrians to leave.

Cycling

At the Etihad Stadium there are more than 100 cycle racks for you to park your bike.

The Ashton cycleway is a completely traffic-free six-mile route which takes you along the canal towpath between Ashton-under-Lyne and Manchester city centre via the National Cycling Centre and Etihad Stadium.

The path has been resurfaced to make it easy for cycling and has solar-powered lights to guide you in the dark.
