Junction improvement work will be taking place at Angouleme Way and Market Street in Bury from Monday 12 July to approximately Monday 1 November.

This forms part of Bury Council’s Highway Investment Strategy and will create a CYCLOPS junction which maximises the opportunities for safe cycling and walking whilst optimising the overall junction performance for all transport modes.

In order to allow this work to take place the exit slip on to Angouleme Way will be closed for the duration of these works and entrances and exits to Market Street will be closed for the duration.

As a result, the roads surrounding the works may be congested, slow moving and shorter trips in local areas may be quicker by walking and cycling.

This page will continue to be updated throughout the works, giving you alternative travel options and the best times to travel.

Driving

Due to these works being directly next to the Interchange, and to effectively manage traffic whilst the junction is upgraded, the exit slip on to Angouleme Way will be closed for the duration of these works.

Entrances and exits to Market Street will also be closed for the duration.

These closures will be in place at all times for the duration of the works.

If you have to drive, please plan before every trip and consider re-routing your journey around the local area in order to avoid delays.
