Advice for drivers

When the works begin in January, drivers are encouraged to re-time their journeys in order to avoid the most congested periods.

Travelling before 7am, between 10am and 3pm, and after 7pm are advised.

Drivers heading to Oldham or Manchester City Centre could use the A62 Oldham Road as an alternative route during the works and busy periods.

Travelling by public transport could also improve your journey times and be cheaper.

Once the works have begun, further data will be provided on this page giving the best times to travel, alternative routes and more information regarding other transport options available to you.
