A newly-formed Greater Manchester Transport Committee (GMTC), responsible for overseeing the shape of transport in Greater Manchester, has held its first meeting.

The new body brings together the principal transport decision-making bodies – the ten GM Councils, the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) and the Mayor – for the first time.

Members of the GMTC have been appointed to represent residents and businesses across Greater Manchester. The Committee will oversee the performance of the transport system and hold rail, tram, and bus operators, TfGM, and highways authorities to account.
