Chinese New Year

Sunday 26 January

Manchester celebrates Chinese New Year with a weekend packed full of fun and fortune. The celebrations culminate with the legendary Dragon Parade, on Sunday 26 January.

Roads are expected to be much busier than normal, with an estimated 30,000 people expected to arrive in the city centre.

Additionally, a number of bus services will be on diversion on Sunday, when the parade takes place. Metrolink services will not operate between St Peter’s Square and Exchange Square for the duration of the parade (11am to 3pm).
