Work has begun on the redevelopment of Stockport Interchange, which is being delivered by Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) and Stockport Council.
In preparation for the new Interchange scheme it was necessary to close the old bus station to construct the new development.
Working with bus operators, we'll maintain all bus services during construction. A temporary bus station has opened on Heaton Lane car park to provide an alternative town centre facility for passengers. Some bus services have been relocated to the new Heaton Lane bus station. A number of on-street bus stops have also been installed around Stockport town centre to provide passengers with a full bus service.

Road closures
During construction of the main interchange, Daw Bank is reduced to a single carriageway with traffic permitted into the town centre.
Diversion notifications are in place for road users travelling out from the town centre.
Swaine Street is closed during the works however, access to TN Robinson’s remains open and their car park is accessible from Swaine St during their opening times.
