The Greater Manchester Police #TransportUnit continues to have a positive impact on the region's bus, tram and road networks as it approaches its third month of operation.

The unit, which started patrolling at the end of November 2019, achieved the following successes during its second month:

  • 48 arrests
  • four weapon recoveries
  • 30 missing people located
  • 73 vehicles seized for no insurance
  • 450 removed from transport network for byelaw offences
  • 2,400 patrols on public transport
