This summer we launched a new internship programme in partnership with the 10,000 Interns Foundation.
The internships were open exclusively to university students and recent graduates who are black or have black heritage, and were designed to directly remove employment barriers for the global majority in Greater Manchester.
Across a 6-week paid placement, the interns gained first-hand experience of life at TfGM, as well as having access to weekly workshops, individual mentorship and further development opportunities.
This pilot programme saw three interns hired into:
- Legal.
- People.
- Audit, Risk and Assurance.
Our interns were supported by a carefully curated learning programme, equipping them with the skills they need for a meaningful career. This included developing their presenting skills, building a project management toolkit, and employability skills which will help them to secure high-quality jobs as they take their next steps.
