TfGM offers an extensive portfolio of locations which can be used for TV, film or photography purposes; from the iconic Metrolink trams which have appeared in dramas such as BBC's 'In the Flesh' and Channel 4's 'Banana', Peter Kay's 'Car Share' and a Moonpig TV advert to transport interchanges and larger buildings which have featured in Coronation Street and ITV's 'Safe House'. We have also worked on Hollywood Blockbuster Morbius, to ensure that passengers were aware of bus route closures and reroutes across Greater Manchester.
Our commercial team are here to help with filming requests and can offer location advice, location fees, the documentation you will need and all general do's and don'ts. You will need permission ahead of time whether you plan to film or just take photographs, our only plea is please don't leave this to the last minute! To submit a request for filming or photography which is intended for commercial use, please complete a filming request form and send to filming@tfgm.com.
If you are looking to film as a journalist or for news purposes, please contact mediarelations@tfgm.com and they can assist you in gaining permission.
We advise that you seek permission 10 working days before filming. Due to the nature of the industry, we are aware that there are exceptional circumstances where this isn't possible, in these instances we will do our best to process your request.
Players from Manchester City’s women’s team visited the Metrolink depot for a photoshoot on our trams to promote the Manchester Derby in December 2022.
In 2016, we facilitated filming at Wythenshawe Interchange for a scene in Coronation Street.
BBC’s Gordon the Gopher made a triumphant return to our screens, and can be seen at the iconic MediaCityUK tram stop.
In 2015, we facilitated filming for Moonpig who hired an out of service tram as part of their national TV advert.
