Transport changes can affect how people travel, access services, run businesses, and move around their local area. We run the Bee Network for you. We want to make sure that you have the opportunity to have your say and to be involved if you want to.
You have a right to influence plans and decisions that are made on your behalf. We promise that we will:
- Plan our engagement and consultation activity with the people impacted at its heart
- Involve you early so feedback can be considered before key decisions are finalised wherever possible
- Make sure we tell you about opportunities to have your say
- Listen to local knowledge, lived experience, business needs, and practical concerns.
- Co-ordinate engagement and consultation so that you are not asked the same questions again and again
- Be clear about whether we’re consulting or engaging on something and what can be changed, and if it can't, why not
- Feed back to you what has been said and explain what we are going to do as a result
- Work with communities on impacts and mitigation during planning, delivery, and aftercare
We will be inclusive and accessible by:
- Making information as simple and jargon-free as possible, providing it in alternative formats and making it screen reader friendly
- Using a range of methods to gather feedback, including online and offline options
- Only holding events in accessible venues
- Making sure we include people who want to be involved, and that everyone has a real opportunity to tell us what they think
- Reaching out to under-represented groups and people who may face barriers to taking part
If we keep our promise, you should:
- Know when and how you can have your say
- Understand what is being proposed and how it may affect you
- Be able to take part in a way that is clear, accessible, and fair
- See how feedback has shaped decisions
- Know how to raise concerns if the process feels unclear, unfair, or inaccessible
We will review this promise with communities, using feedback, complaints, participation data, equality monitoring, and lessons learned to keep improving.
