TfGM contactless customer service portal/application

Terms and conditions

Introduction

These terms and conditions apply to the use, during the 'public beta' phase, of Transport for Greater Manchester's customer self-service application/portal, accessible via www.tfgm.com/contactless. The Contactless Portal refers to contactless payments made as a result of (i) using smart readers located on stop platforms or (ii) a customer paying a contactless 'standard fare' where they have not touched in at a smart reader before starting their journey, when travelling on the Manchester Metrolink tram system ( "Metrolink" ). The 'public beta' phase relating to the Contactless Portal is referred to in these terms and conditions as the "Contactless Portal Test Programme".

The Contactless Portal does not refer to payments made by Metrolink customers at ticket vending machines located at Metrolink stop platforms.

Acceptance of terms and conditions

These terms and conditions are entered into by and between Transport for Greater Manchester ( "TfGM" or "we" or "us"), and the beta tester ( "you").

Please read these terms and conditions carefully. By participating in our Contactless Portal Test Programme, you are accepting the terms and conditions below. If the meaning or intention of a clause in these terms and conditions is unclear, please get in touch with us for clarification (contact details are set out below).

These terms and conditions do not apply to any final, non-beta version of the Contactless Portal that is launched by TfGM, and these terms and conditions shall expire automatically upon such final, non-beta version being launched.

Background

A. TfGM has introduced contactless debit and credit card payments (including MasterCard, Visa and Maestro) and payment via mobile phones or other devices that can be used to make contactless payments (using such mobile payment and digital wallet services as TfGM may accept from time to time) as a means of paying for journeys on Metrolink via the smart readers located at Metrolink stop platforms ( "Contactless Payment").

B. To support Contactless Payment, TfGM now wishes to introduce the Contactless Portal so that (amongst other things), Metrolink customers who use Contactless Payment can check their journey history, and payments made, resulting from such use.

C. TfGM desires that the Contactless Portal be tested prior to general release.

D. You wish to serve as a beta tester in the Contactless Portal Test Programme.

Terms and Conditions

In return for your participation in the Contactless Portal Test Programme, the following terms and conditions will apply:

Beta testing participation

  2. You will only be entitled to participate in the Contactless Portal Test Programme if you have previously used a payment card or other device for the purposes of Contactless Payment on the Metrolink.

  3. You agree to provide reasonable feedback to TfGM about your experiences using the Contactless Portal. The Contactless Portal is provided "AS IS" without warranty of any kind.

  8. TfGM reserves the right to update these terms and conditions without prior notice ( "Updated Terms"). You agree that we may notify you of the Updated Terms via your registered email address, and that your use of the Contactless Portal after the effective date of the Updated Terms constitutes your acceptance of the Updated Terms. Therefore, you should review these terms and conditions and any Updated Terms before using the Contactless Portal. The Updated Terms will be effective as of the time of posting, or such later date as may be specified in the Updated Terms, and will apply to your use of the Contactless Portal from that point forward.
