You will need access to a device i.e tablet, laptop or desktop computer with a microphone and camera, and a reliable internet connection capable of streaming video.
Smart phones may be used, however the course will be far more effective if you have a larger screen.
You will need enough charge to last two and a half hours so it's best to be plugged into the mains supply.
If using a smartphone or tablet, we recommend you download the free ZOOM app in advance of the course from your usual app store.
If you do not receive your email link 24 hours before your course date, please check your 'junk' or 'spam' folder.
If still not received, please call us before your course on 0300 123 1518. We're open Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:00pm (exluding bank holidays).
Please join your online course 15 minutes before the start time in case you experience any technical difficulties. When you join you will be placed in a 'waiting area'. Please be patient as our Trainer will meet each client individaully to check their photographic ID.
We recommend you download the Zoom application the day before your course and hold a test meeting with a family member or friend to ensure everything is working ready for your DriveSafe course.
If you have nobody to test with, you can click on the link below to test that you have successfully downloaded and can open the Zoom meeting app prior to your course. You can also check your camera and microphone are working.
Please note this is a TEST link only. You will receive a link for your actual course 24 hours before your course date.
When prompted, click to ‘Download’, ‘Run’ or ‘Open Zoom meeting’, and accept all permission requests (e.g. ‘Join with video’ or ‘Use computer/internet audio’).
Once you have successfully tested the above you will simply need to click the link for your actual DriveSafe course which we will email it to you the day before your course.
- It is essential you provide photographic ID
If you have a photocard style driving licence, please have this available to show your trainer for the the online course as it's the easiest way for us to check your identification.
If you do not have a photocard style licence - you must bring your passport or similar photographic means of identification.
If you wear a form of head dress that covers your face (for personal or religious reasons) you will be required to remove or adjust this (in private) to allow our trainer to establish your identity.
- Late arrivals will not be allowed to participate
Please join your online digital course 15 minutes before the course start time in case you have any technical difficulties.
- Please note:
To help Ukrainian nationals arriving in Greater Manchester, Metrolink tram services, rail services and the majority of bus and coach services in the region are being provided free of charge.
Make sure you touch-in and touch-out using the SAME device at the start and end of your journey.
Face coverings are no longer compulsory but are encouraged
Commissioned by Quays Culture, the project explores what ‘home’ means to us and is a free event on Sat 11 June at 5.30pm and 9pm to all accessible by Metrolink.
In May, planned improvement works will take place on Metrolink. These works will affect various different lines across a number of dates.
New dates have been proposed for local service contracts in Bolton and Wigan.
