Getting to Altrincham 10K

The Altrincham 10K returns to the town centre on Sunday 7 September.

Key advice

Travel by tram

Fans are advised to travel to the Altrincham 10K event by tram.

Travel by bus

With road closures in place, some bus services will be diverted in Altrincham.

In the days leading up to the event, please check our travel alerts page to find out if any of the below services will be affected.

Travel by train

Looking to travel by train? Train services start later on Sundays. As a result, rail services will arrive into Altrincham after the event start time of 9.30am.

We are advising those attending to look at other travel options including going by tram.

Don't forget, buses will replace trams between Ashton-under-Lyne and Piccadilly Gardens on the day due to tram improvement works.

Travel by car

To allow the Altrincham 10K to take place safely, several road closures will be in place an on the day and parking will suspended on some nearby.

There is also likely to be increased congestion around Altrincham town centre. We're advising travelling by public transport to Altrincham, where possible.

If you do drive, the following car parks are within a short distance of the course:

  • Stamford Quarter car park, WA14 1RH
  • Goose Green car park, WA14 2FF

Cycling and walking

There is a secure on-site cycle parking for up to 53 bikes outside of Altrincham Interchange, with security and CCTV.

If you are going to ride to site, remember to bring a bike lock, pack bike lights and wear a helmet. Please do not drink and ride.

Spectating on the day

The Altrincham 10K will be ran along a relatively flat, circular route, towards Hale Barns, before returning to Altrincham town centre.
