The

Bury 10K

returns to the town centre on Sunday 7 September.

Key advice

Fans are advised to travel to the Bury tram stop on the Bury line.
The stop is a short 7 minute walk from the start line.
Double trams will run from Manchester City Centre every 15 minutes.
On event day, tram improvement works will take place at Piccadilly and on the Ashton line. Buses will replace trams operating between Ashton-under-Lyne and Piccadilly Gardens.

Brandlesholme Road - Stafford Street to Woodhill Road - 8.30am to 11.30am
Bury Road - Scobell Street to Market Street - 8.30am to 10.45am
Castlecroft Road - Chamberhall Street to Bolton Street - 8.30am to 12.30pm
Crosstons Road - Bolton Street to Tottington Road (Inc. Slip Roads) - 8.30am to 10.30am
Dunster Road - Castlecroft Road Harvard Road - 8.30am to 10am
Harvard Road - Dunster Road to Peel Way (Inc. Slip Road) - 8.30am to 10am
Harvard Road - Magdalene Road to Dunster Road - 8.30am 1 to 1.45am
Haymarket Street - The Rock to Moss Street - 11.30am to 12.30pm
Laurel Street - Market Street to South Royd Street - 8.30am to 10.45am

The closest tram stop to the event is Bury, which is on the Bury line.
It's then just a 7-minute walk via Market Street and The Rock to reach the start and finish line.
Double trams will run every 15 minutes from Manchester City Centre to Bury.
On race day, planned engineering works will take place on London Road near Piccadilly Station and along the Ashton line, which means there will be no trams operating between Ashton-under-Lyne and Piccadilly Gardens.

Travel by bus

With road closures in place, some bus services will be diverted in Bury.

Both the start & finish lines can be reached on foot, in 7 minutes, from Bury Interchange.

Travel by car

To allow the Bury 10K to take place safely, several road closures will be in place an on the day and parking will suspended on some nearby.

There is also likely to be increased congestion around Bury town centre. We're advising travelling by public transport to Bury, where possible.

Parking will not be permitted in the following areas:

Parsons Lane Car Park (All Parking Bays) - From 7am on Saturday 6 September to 3pm on Sunday 7 September
Bolton Street (Both Sides) – Castle Leisure Centre to The Rock – From 6pm on Saturday 6 September to 1pm on Sunday 7 September
The Rock (Both Sides) - From 6pm on Saturday 6 September to 1pm on Sunday 7 September
Market Place (Both Sides) - From 6pm on Saturday 6 September to 1pm on Sunday 7 September

If you have to drive or need to be dropped off/picked up, did you know that there are 24 park and ride sites in Greater Manchester, where you can park your car for free, and hop on the tram to your destination?

With road closures in place in Bury Town Centre, consider parking at the below park and rides and finish your journey by tram:

Radcliffe (502 spaces)
Whitefield (344 spaces)

If you park at either stop, you can take the tram directly to Bury in less than 10 minutes.

Cycling and walking

There is a secure on-site cycle parking for up to 39 bikes at Bury Interchange, with security and CCTV.

If you are going to ride to site, remember to bring a bike lock, pack bike lights and wear a helmet. Please do not drink and ride.
