Powered by Transport for Greater Manchester

RiConnect is a knowledge-sharing project comprised of eight European metropolises which is focussed on 'transforming and integrating mobility infrastructure' - making urban streets easier to get around and pleasant to be in, especially when travelling by public transport, on foot or by bike. The rationale for the partnership is Greater Manchester's focus on creating an integrated, modern and accessible public transport network, alongside our work to foster a progressive streets agenda, through our Streets for All approach.

The aim of the project is to develop an Integrated Action Plan (policy document), and to continue to learn about how the other European city-regions have addressed similar transport planning challenges to the ones we face in Greater Manchester. We also aim to better understand the process that our partner city-regions go through to identify issues and opportunities; consider objectives and outcomes; design schemes; engage with communities and other stakeholders; develop business cases and secure funding.
