TfGM are working with “SightCall” and “You. Smart. Thing” on the Department for Transport funded Travel Assist project. The project aims to support the ambition that disabled people should have the same access to transport as everybody else, to be able to travel easily, confidently and without extra cost.
Through the use of a mobile phone app, the project aims to make it easier for people with visual impairments to navigate around transport infrastructure such as rail stations or interchanges. The app will assist travellers by providing them with a link to a specially trained member of TfGM’s Call Centre who can then help guide them in real time.
