Italian Procession

The annual Madonna Del Rosario Procession will take place on Sunday 5 July 2026.

Participants of the parade will gather around 12 noon before setting off at 1.15pm from St Michael's Church on George Leigh Street in Ancoats. The parade will then make its way towards St Peter's Square, arriving at approximately 2.30pm.

After speeches and celebrations it will depart St Peter's Square at approximately 3.15pm, returning to the church for approximately 5pm.

Parade route

Towards St Peter's Square, the parade will proceed from George Leigh Street via Great Ancoats Street, Newton Street, Portland Street and Oxford Street to St Peter's Square.

Later on from St Peter's Square, the parade will return towards George Leigh Street via Princess Street, Portland Street, Newton Street and Great Ancoats Street to George Leigh Street.

Bus

Road closures will be in place to allow the parade to take place safely. As a result, bus services operating to or from Piccadilly Gardens may operate on diversion and experience delays.
