From Sunday 17 May 2026 until Easter 2027, major roadworks will be taking place near Rochdale Town Centre, on four sites across Manchester Road.
Temporary traffic lights and lane closures will be place at:
- Manchester Road, at the junction of Silk Street & Bolton Road
- Manchester Road, at the junction of Edinburgh Way & Rochdale Valley Way
- Manchester Road, at the junction of South of Montgomery Street
As a result, nearby roads are likely to see increased congestion and journeys between Rochdale and Castleton may take longer than usual.
