From Monday 14 September, Metrolink will introduce a revised timetable with service changes, designed to improve reliability across the network.
Services will continue to operate every 15 minutes across the network, with additional peak-time trams providing a service every 7.5 minutes on key corridors.
Metrolink will continue to provide additional capacity for football matches and other major events where required, and work is ongoing to return to a 12/6-minute frequency in the future.
The operating hours below are a general guide only.
Use the first and last tram times tool to find the exact time of your journey. For major events operating hours may be extended and frequencies increased.
Monday to Thursday
6am to midnight

Friday and Saturday
6am to 1am (following day)

Sunday and public holidays

Stops with more than one service running through them will have trams arriving more frequently. View the tram network map to see which services call at your stop.
All-day services
The following services operate all day, from start of service until end of service:
- Altrincham – Etihad Campus
- Bury – Ashton-under-Lyne
- Piccadilly – Eccles (via MediaCityUK outside peak times)
- Rochdale Town Centre – East Didsbury via Exchange Square
- Manchester Airport – Victoria via Market Street
- The Trafford Centre – Crumpsall via Exchange Square
Customers travelling between Ashton and Eccles, you can change at Piccadilly.
Part-day services
Some services only operate for part of the day to meet increased demand at busier times.
The following services operate from 7am to 8pm Monday to Friday, and from 9am to 6.30pm on Saturday:
Altrincham – Bury via Market Street
- Outside of these hours, use the Altrincham – Etihad Campus and Bury – Ashton-under-Lyne services.
East Didsbury – Shaw and Crompton via Exchange Square
- Outside of these hours, use the East Didsbury – Rochdale Town Centre service.
MediaCityUK - Piccadilly

Outside of these hours, use the Piccadilly – Eccles via MediaCityUK service.

During these times the Piccadilly – Eccles service does not call at MediaCityUK. The display on the tram front will state whether the tram operates via MediaCityUK.
