Always look out for motorcyclists and pedal cyclists

Especially at junctions, when changing lanes and overtakingSafer Roads logo

Every death or serious injury on our roads is one too many.

Every year, around 820 motorcyclists are killed or seriously injured, and the number of cycling injuries is also rising as more people choose to travel by bike.

In Greater Manchester, car drivers were responsible for 89% of motorcycle casualties and 85% of pedal cycle casualties between 2018 and 2022.

Take another look, not a life

One of the leading causes of fatal and serious collisions for both motorcyclists and cyclists is that the driver failed to look properly.

Take a look at the videos below to get a better understanding at the impact that failing to look can have:

The Highway Code

Understanding the rules of the road keeps everyone safer, especially those most at risk.

Read the Highway Code and learn the rules designed to protect people walking, cycling, and motorcycling.
