School bus services help pupils aged between 11 and 16 get to and from secondary school.
Anyone can use normal school buses, so you're not guaranteed a seat.
Do you qualify?
To get a school bus weekly pass you must:
- be aged 11 to 15, or 16 if you're still in year 11
- go to a Greater Manchester secondary school that's has a school bus service
- travel on a service that offers return tickets as well as singles
- have an igo pass.
Check which schools use school busesand whether your service offers return tickets (you can only get a weekly pass if the service does returns).
The benefits
In some cases you can use the pass on other journeys which serve similar areas, even if they're provided by different bus companies.
Buy your pass
Buy from the driver on the bus with cash or from a Information and Ticket office.
You must have an igo pass to buy the weekly pass, and must carry the __igo pass __with you when you travel.
If you lose your pass
Sorry, there are no refunds; you have to buy another pass.
