Train and tram 7-day combined ticket (adult)

You can buy tickets that combine Metrolink tram and train journeys, instead of getting two separate tickets.

Do you qualify?

Anyone can buy this ticket. But if you're under 16, a student (16-19 in school or college), over 60 or disabled with a National Concessionary Travel Pass, find out more about tickets and passes.

The costs and the benefits

If you want to travel between a train station and a Metrolink tram stop you can buy a combined ticket.

You can also travel on Metrolink in zone 1 (See tram map) at no extra cost if you have one of the following tickets:

  1. The destination on your train ticket is “Manchester Central Zone” (MANCHESTER CTLZ). This is available for train tickets from anywhere in Greater Manchester into Manchester city centre.

  2. A train ticket from and to any Greater Manchester train station, where you need to change between city centre stations within Metrolink Zone 1 (See tram map). You can use the tram to change between the two city centre train stations for no extra cost.

The cost of the ticket depends on how far you're travelling.

Buy your combined ticket

You need a rail photo ID card first: get this by taking a passport-style photo to a staffed station ticket office.

When you have the ID card, buy the combined ticket from the train station ticket office or the ticket machines at the rail station.
