Do you qualify?
You can buy this ticket if you are aged between five and 16.
From age 11, you must carry proof of your age when you use this ticket. Use your igo pass if you have one. If not, carry official ID with a photograph and your date of birth.
The costs and the benefits
If you want to travel between a train station and a Metrolink tram stop you can buy a combined ticket.
You can also travel on Metrolink in zone 1 (See tram map) at no extra cost if you have one of the following tickets:
-
The destination on your train ticket is “Manchester Central Zone” (MANCHESTER CTLZ). This is available for train tickets from anywhere in Greater Manchester into Manchester city centre.
-
A train ticket from and to any Greater Manchester train station, where you need to change between city centre stations within Metrolink Zone 1 (See tram map). You can use the tram to change between the two city centre train stations for no extra cost.
The cost of the ticket depends on how far you're travelling.
Buy your combined ticket
Buy your combined 7-day ticket at a Greater Manchester train station ticket office or the ticket machines at the rail station. You will need proof of your age.
