If you have a walking difficulties travel pass and it is about to expire, you can renew it with us online.
You can only renew your pass if you’ve received a letter from us telling you it’s due for renewal.
If you don't want to renew online, you can follow instructions on your renewal letter.
To renew your pass online, you will need to provide one of the following documents:
- Evidence that the applicant receives the higher rate mobility component of Disability Living Allowance
- Evidence that the applicant has Personal Independence Payment (PIP) where the award is for at least 8 points in the “moving around” activity
- Evidence that the applicant is in receipt of the War Pensioner’s Mobility Supplement
If you have previously provided evidence that you receive higher rate mobility component of DLA, or you score 8 points or more for ‘moving around’ on PIP, then, in most cases, we can accept the latest front page of the renewal or yearly review letter that you have received from the DWP. It must be dated in the last 12 months.
Alternatively, if unable to provide any of the above, you will need to:
- Complete all questions within the application form and provide supporting medical evidence that show the applicant meets the eligibility criteria.
The information will be assessed by independent medical advisors and you may be required to attend a brief in person assessment.

Proof of residence in Greater Manchester dated within the last 12 months. This can be in the form of one of the following documents:
- DWP letter
- Utility bill
- Local council tax bill

If the applicant's appearance has changed since receiving their current travel pass you will also need to provide the following:
- A recent, good quality photograph showing the applicant’s full face without a hat.
