Tram Travel Advice - Manchester City Centre

Wednesday 14 October

Tonight [14 Oct], Manchester City will play Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), with kick-off scheduled for 8pm.

Ahead of this, we will be supporting GMP with transporting around 1,700 visiting fans using designated trams from Victoria to New Islington, where PSG supporters will continue their journey on foot under a managed operation.

As a result, Victoria tram stop is expected to be particularly busy between 4pm and 5.30pm.

It is expected, as with all match days, that Metrolink services will be busier than usual.

Key advice for background users

If you are planning a journey by tram on Wednesday evening, please consider boarding at a tram stop before or after Victoria or travelling after 5.30pm.

  • If you are heading to Bury, customers are advised to use Shudehill instead of Victoria where possible.
  • Those travelling towards Rochdale should use Exchange Square.
  • Ashton line services are expected to be busy, so please consider travelling earlier or later if your journey is flexible.
