Summary:
Bee Network services continue to be on time more often, compared with the same period as last year, over the period 9th – 15th February 2025.
Bus punctuality was 82.1% across tranche 1 services, 72.2% across tranche 2 services and 71.8% across tranche 3 services.
Congestion across the network, roadwork activity and road closures meant some services experienced delays, particularly during the PM peak on Tuesday and Friday and throughout Saturday.
On 5 January 2025, Bee Network services began operating in Stockport, Tameside, Trafford and the remaining parts of Manchester and Salford. This involved changes affecting numerous bus routes, vehicles and depots and was a highly complex process, during a period of severe weather disruption.
This resulted in a number of short-term issues. Whilst the majority of buses on affected routes ran, we worked closely with the operators to rectify early issues quickly while the new arrangements bedded in and acted to limit the impact of poor weather conditions on services.
About the data:
The Bee Network Punctuality charts show the percentage of bus services running ‘on time’.
It shows:
- Bee Network punctuality: Results for current Bee Network services.
- Non-Bee Network punctuality: Results for buses in Greater Manchester that are not yet part of the Bee Network
- Equivalent period previous 12 months: Results for comparable services for the same period 12 months previously
This allows you to compare past and present performance. The Senior Traffic Commissioner (responsible for licensing and regulating bus services) classes services running between one minute early and five minutes late as ‘on time’. This allows for road traffic conditions which can affect bus running times.
