We want to make travelling on Bee Network bus services as easy as possible for all customers. So here is some information for users of wheelchairs or mobility scooters to help you get the most out of travelling on Bee Network.
Wheelchair users and Bee Network buses
If you are using a wheelchair and want to board a Bee Network bus, the wheelchair must meet the following criteria in order to safely get to and from the wheelchair space:
- the size of the wheelchair must not exceed a width of 70cm, a length of 120cm
- the combined weight of the scooter passenger must not exceed the weight limit for the ramp displayed on the bus. This is to protect your safety.

Please consult your user manual if you are not sure of your scooter’s dimensions.
The combined weight of the scooter and passenger must not exceed the weight limit for the ramp displayed on the bus. This is to protect your safety.

More information
- There is no need for any special permit to board our buses with a wheelchair but it will be the driver’s decision if they believe that the size and weight rules aren’t met and they cannot safely help you board and transport you on their bus. A permit is needed for mobility scooters.
- If there is no room for the passenger and their wheelchair/mobility scooter because the dedicated space is already being used by another wheelchair user, then the driver may decline travel.
- We regret that no alternative travel methods (taxi’s etc) will be arranged if the driver cannot transport you on the bus.
- Wheelchair and mobility scooters have priority over the designated spaces. Pram/Pushchair users will be asked to fold up the item to allow a wheelchair access to the designated space
