October and November 2026

Bonfire Night celebrations are returning to some of Greater Manchester's major parks including Heaton Park, Platt Fields and Wythenshawe Park for 2026. Many local events are also taking place at venues across the region in October and November.

Key Travel Advice

Bonfire night displays will be taking place across Greater Manchester, with major events returning Heaton Park, Platt Fields Park and Wythenshawe Park on Saturday 7th November.
Heaton Park, Platt Fields Park and Wythenshawe Park, can be easily reached by public transport, with trams and buses running to within walking distance.
With the first weekend of the Christmas Markets, concerts at the AO Arena and Co-op Live and football at Old Trafford all taking place on Saturday 7 November, it's expected to be very busy - please plan ahead.

Heaton Park event

On Saturday 7 November, a firework display will be held at Heaton Park.

The event will be open from 4.30pm, and will close at 9pm. The firework display will take place at 8pm.

Heaton Park can be easily reached by bus and tram.

Bus

Heaton Park is easily accessible via bus, including the 59 and 135 services which operate from Manchester city centre.

You can also reach Heaton Park from other parts of Greater Manchester, via the 52, 90, 94 and 151 bus services.

Several bus stops near the park will be closed to allow the event to take place.

Tram

The closest tram stop to the event is Heaton Park which is adjacent to the entrance on Bury Old Road.

Trams will be running on a 7.5 minute frequency on the Bury line from Manchester city centre and Bury town centre.

Road closures

To allow event goers to safely exit the park after the display, road closures will be in place for approximately 30 minutes on Bury Old Road (from Whittaker Lane to Sheepfoot Lane) and Sheepfoot Lane (Bury Old Road to Middleton Road).

If you are making a journey by road please allow plenty of extra time and consider using public transport before driving, as congestion and delays are expected.

Platt Fields Park event

On Saturday 7 November, a firework display will take place at Platt Fields Park in Fallowfield.

Platt Fields Park is located on the city's busiest bus route and can easily be reached by public transport, and by bike.

The event will open at 4.30pm, and the firework display will take place at 8pm.

Bus

Platt Fields is easily accessible by bus, including the 41,
42, 42A, 42B, 42C, 43,142, 143, 147.

Several bus stops near the park will be closed to allow the event to take place.

Cycling and Walking

Road Closures

A one-way road closure will be in place on Yew Tree Road after the display to allow people to safely leave the park.

Parking suspensions will also be in place on nearby roads, with resident's parking only allowed.

Wythenshawe Park event

On Saturday 7 November, a firework display will take place at Wythenshawe Park.

The event will open at 4.30pm, and the firework display will take place at 8pm. There will be three entrances to the park for the event via the North, South and West gate.

Wythenshawe Park is easily accessible from the city centre and other parts of Greater Manchester via bus and tram.

Tram

Wythenshawe Park can be reached by tram with services operating on the Airport line, with services running every 15 minutes to Wythenshawe Park tram stop, from the city centre and Manchester Airport.

Bus

Wythenshawe Park is easily accessible by bus, including the 41, 43, 101 and 103, which operate from the city centre to within walking distance of the venue.

Road closures

In order to allow event goers to safely exit the park after the display, rolling road closures will be in place on Wythenshawe Road, between Sale Road and Moor Road.

Limited parking will be avaliable near Wythenshawe Park, suspensions will be in place around the park.

Events by borough

Bradshaw Cricket Club Firework Display

On Saturday 17 October 2026, a firework display will be taking place at Bradshaw Cricket Club. The event will start at 6.30pm and will end at 9pm.

There will be two entrances to the event in operation. Entrance 1 is accessed directly from Bolton Road and is close to the 507 and 480 bus stop.

Entrance 2 can be accessed from either Turton Road or Bradshaw Road via Rigby Lane – The 533 & 541 buses from Bromley Cross and Egerton stop on Turton Road close to Rigby Lane.

Limited accessible parking is avaliable on the site at request. Roads near to the event will be very busy - please park responsibly.

Bolton School

On Sunday 8 November, Friends of Bolton School Firework Display will take place at Bolton School on Chorley New Road. Gates will open for the event at 4pm, and the display will take place at 6pm.

The event can be easily reached from Bolton Town Centre via the 575, 576 and 615 bus services, or from Manchester City Centre via the The event can also be reached from Bolton via foot (approximately 30 minutes' walk).

The following events will be taking place in Oldham:

The Big Bang Bonfire

On Thursday 2 November, a bonfire and firework events at Oldham Edge Playing Field on Henshaw Street in Oldham.

Oldham Edge Playing Fields can be reached by foot from Oldham Town Centre, and is approximately a 20 minute walk.

Free parking from 3pm on the day will be available in all council-owned town centre car parks (except the former Sports centre car park on Rock Street), on-street pay and display parking bays, and the Town Square Car Park on Ascroft Street.

The following events will be taking place in Salford:

Buile Hill Park, Salford (Salford Firework Weekend)

On Saturday 31 October, a firework display will be taking part at Buile Hill Park with events taking place from 4pm.

Prince’s Park, Irlam

On Sunday 1 November, a firework display will be taking part at Prince's Park in Irlam as part of Salford Firework Weekend.
