Altrincham Carnival

Saturday 28 June

Altrincham Carnival parade returns this year, leaving St. Margarets Road, Altrincham at 11.00am.

If you're planning to travel to the parade, our key advice is:

The parade will take place on Saturday 28 June 2025 between 11am and 1pm. To allows the parade to take place, a number of road closures, will be in place between 7am and 2pm. To avoid congestion, consider using Metrolink.
Metrolink improvement works are taking place on the Metrolink tracks between Piccadilly Gardens and Piccadilly from 3 June to 10 August. No trams will operate via Piccadilly Gardens. Trams on the Altrincham and Bury lines will not serve Piccadilly Gardens or Piccadilly and will instead travel directly between Altrincham and Bury via Market Street. All tram services from Ashton-under-Lyne and Etihad Campus will operate to Piccadilly, whilst services to Eccles (via MediaCitUK) will operate from Victoria via Market Street.

The Festival Parade will leave St. Margarets Road at 11.00am and take a 4-mile route to Timperley.

The Altrincham Festival Field can be found at “Beechfields” which is at the bottom of Grange Avenue.

To allow for the parade to take place, the following road closures will be in place:

From 7am - 2pm

St Margaret’s Road
Cavendish Road
Delamer Road
The Downs
Railway Street
Stamford New Road
Barrington Road
Woodlands Road
Stockport Road
Park Road
Grange Road
Grange Avenue

These closures mean all traffic will need to use alternative routes and there could be congestion on these roads, especially on the roads near the parade route.

If you are travelling to the parade, we strongly recommend using public transport as this will be quicker than driving.
