Park and Ride

If you have to drive, did you know that there are 24 Park and Ride sites in Greater Manchester, where you can park your car for free and hop on the tram to your destination? The nearest Park and Ride sites to Gigg Lane are:

  • Whitefield (Bury line) - 331 spaces and 13 disabled spaces - a direct service to Bury that takes 9 minutes.
  • Radcliffe (Bury line) - 480 spaces and 22 disabled spaces - a direct service to Bury that takes 6 minutes.

The stadium is located on Gigg Lane, which is just off the A56 Manchester Road in Bury.

Whether travelling from the north, south, east or west by road, the ground is approximately a 10-minute drive from the M60, M66 and M62.

As Bury tram stop is only a short walk from Gigg Lane, consider parking your car at one of Metrolink's 24 park and ride sites, as continuing your journey by tram may be quicker at peak travel times.


If you are travelling to Gigg Lane by train, the best way to reach the ground from rail stations in the city centre is by Metrolink.

The Bury line will take you from Victoria or Piccadilly in approximately 30 minutes.

If travelling by rail, be sure to check every journey before travelling - either with your operator or on the National Rail website.

Accessibility on the bus

Many buses have ramps and can accommodate wheelchairs. Some new buses also have display screens, route numbers, destination displays and audio-visual ‘next stop’ announcements.

A lot of bus operators have low floor buses to make it easier for people who use wheelchairs, mobility scooters, and those with small children and pushchairs.
