The Manchester United v Bournemouth fixtures takes place during a period of essential Metrolink engineering works between 19 October and 1 November.

During this period there will be no tram services operating on the Altrincham, Trafford Park and Eccles lines.

Services on the Airport and East Didsbury lines will also be reduced, with no tram services operating through to Manchester city centre from any of these lines. Supporters travelling to/from East Didsbury/Manchester Airport can catch the tram to/from Firswood.

To support football fans travelling to and from Old Trafford, a range of alternative public transport options will be available, including replacement bus services, Bee Network bus services, ticket acceptance on selected rail services and a programme of dedicated football shuttle buses.

Allow plenty of time for travel. We suggest departing an hour earlier than normal to ensure you arrive at the ground on time.

Pre-match

Shuttle bus

Dedicated shuttle buses will operate from Piccadilly Gardens (stand G) to Old Trafford from 10:00.
Services will run every 20 minutes until 12:00.
From 12:00, buses will operate every 5 minutes.
The final departure to Old Trafford will be at 13:25.
Following the match, supporters can return to the city centre from either Chester Road (outside the Ford Garage) or Wharfside Way adjacent to the E2 car park.
Allow plenty of time for travel. We suggest departing an hour earlier than normal to ensure you arrive at the ground on time.

All Bee Network tickets will be accepted on these services and customers will be able to purchase tickets directly from the driver or via the Bee Network App.

TfGM will also have staff deployed at key interchange locations to support customers and provide travel advice throughout the day.

Bee Network bus

There are a number of Bee Network bus services that will get you to Old Trafford from Piccadilly Gardens. The following services will get you within a 10-minute walk:

15, 255, 256 and 263

Ticket acceptance is in place on the above services for Metrolink passengers with a 7-day, 28-day or annual season ticket.

Shuttle bus

Dedicated buses will operate from Stand D at Altrincham Interchange.
Services will call at Navigation Road, De Quincey Road and Stanley Mount.
Buses will operate every 20 minutes until 10:00.
From 12:00, services will operate every 5 minutes.
The final departure from Altrincham will be at 12:30.
Following the match, return services to Altrincham will depart from Chester Road outside Tesco.
Allow plenty of time for travel. We suggest departing an hour earlier than normal to ensure you arrive at the ground on time.

Dedicated buses will operate from Stand 16 at The Trafford Centre Bus Station from 12:00.
Services will depart approximately every 7 minutes.
The final departure to Old Trafford will be at 13:14.
Following the match, return services to the Trafford Centre will depart from Wharfside Way adjacent to the N2 car park.
Allow plenty of time for travel. We suggest departing an hour earlier than normal to ensure you arrive at the ground on time.

Bee Network bus

There are a number of Bee Network bus services that will get you to Old Trafford from The Trafford Centre. The following services will get you within a 10-minute walk:

30 and 250

Ticket acceptance is in place on the above services for Metrolink passengers with a 7-day, 28-day or annual season ticket.

These services will be on diversion from 30 minutes before and 60 minutes after kick off. Please allow extra time to travel and familiarise yourself with the diversion route.

Tram

Tram services will operate every 15 minutes between East Didsbury/Manchester Airport and Firswood which is then a 25-minute walk to Old Trafford Stadium.

From Firswood tram stop, travel along Rye Bank Road, Warwick Road South, Brian Statham Way, Warwick Road and Sir Matt Busby Way.

Bus and rail

For 7-day, 28-day & annual pass holders only, ticket acceptance is in place on rail services between the city centre and East Didsbury/Manchester Airport and on the following Bee Network bus services:

East Didsbury line: 15, 23, 25, 41, 42, 42A/B/C, 43, 50, 85/A, 86, 101, 103, 111, 142, 143, 147, 171, 172, 370 & 371.
Manchester Airport line: 19, 23, 25, 41, 43, 85A, 101, 103, 248, 249 & 368.

Alternatively if you do not have a season ticket, you can purchase a hopper bus ticket for £2 or a 1-day bus travelcard for £5 from the driver.

Express shuttle bus

If travelling on the Ashton or Bury line, you will be able to get a tram into Piccadilly with services operating every 15 minutes. An express shuttle bus will then operate from Piccadilly to Trafford Bar (every 10 minutes) and to Wharfside (every 15 minutes).

If travelling on the Rochdale line, you will be able to get the tram to Victoria and change onto an Ashton tram to Piccadilly. You will then be able to board one of the express shuttle buses above.

Ticket acceptance is in place for Metrolink passengers with a valid ticket.

Post-match

Following the match, supporters can return to the city centre by bus from either Chester Road (outside the Ford Garage) or Wharfside Way adjacent to the E2 car park.

Buses will operate on a load and go basis.
