From Monday 19 October to Sunday 1 November, tram improvement works will take place at Deansgate-Castlefield and Trafford Bar. During this time, additional works will take place in the city centre, allowing us to reduce further closures of the tram network.
During this time:
- No trams will operate on the Altrincham, Trafford Centre and Eccles lines
- Services operating on the East Didsbury/Manchester Airport lines will terminate at Firswood. From Firswood you will then need to board a replacement bus service to continue your journey into the city centre.
- Services operating on the Rochdale line will terminate at Exchange Square.
- Tram services will resume on these lines from start of service on Monday 2 November.
Trams will continue to run on the following lines:
- East Didsbury – Firswood
- Manchester Airport – Firswood
- Rochdale Town Centre – Exchange Square
- Shaw and Crompton – Exchange Square (peak)
- Bury – Ashton-under-Lyne
- Bury – Etihad (peak)
- Victoria – Etihad (after peak)
Replacement shuttle buses will operate as follows:
- Every 10 minutes: Sale - Stretford - Trafford Bar - Deansgate-Castlefield - Piccadilly
- Every 15 minutes: Chorlton - Firswood - Deansgate-Castlefield - Piccadilly
- Every 15 minutes: MediaCityUK - Deansgate-Castlefield - Piccadilly
- Every 15 minutes: Trafford Centre - Trafford Palazzo - Parkway - Village - Imperial War Museum - Wharfside - Deansgate-Castlefield - Piccadilly
Replacement bus timetables and stops will be published in advance of the closure.
