TfGM are carrying out essential improvement works at Prestwich Metrolink stop, to help maintain a safe, reliable and efficient tram network.
There will be no disruption to tram services while these works are taking place. However, there may be an increased presence of contractor staff at this stop during this time.
Overnight working
Some activities must be carried out when trams are not running to ensure safety. This means:
-
Overnight working will take place between 10pm and 7am at points during the programme
-
This will not occur every night, but intermittently across the works period
-
Works will be ongoing intermittently during daytime and overnight hours
We will take steps to minimise noise wherever possible, including:
-
Use of acoustic barriers
-
Use of battery powered tools where feasible
-
Strict controls on contractor working practices
What to expect
A temporary site compound (storage and welfare facilities) will be set up within the stop car park.
The walking route between Rectory Lane and Ward Drive will remain open, but limited to the footpath only during the works
Why the works are taking place
These upgrades are part of ongoing investment in the Bee Network to ensure Metrolink continues to operate a safe, high-frequency and reliable service for customers.
We appreciate your patience while these essential works take place.
