Metrolink engineering works are planned to take place at a site between Derker and Shaw & Crompton tram stops from Saturday 18 October to Thursday 20 November 2025.
The work will be carried out, out of hours during night-time shifts, and will not affect Metrolink services.
Why the works are taking place:
The essential works will involve piling probing works and also the installation of bore holes. These essential maintenance works will allow trams to continue to operate safely, reliably, and efficiently on this line.
Details of the works:
The preparation of the piling probing works commences on the 18 October 2025, with all the works due to finish on 20 November 2025. To complete the works as quickly as possible and minimise the overall duration of the impact of the works, out of hours working will be required during these times with the work being carried out during night-time shifts.
Bore holes will also be installed between the period of 3 November to 18 November (excluding weekends), this will also be nightshift working.
There is potential for this work to create some low-level noise at times although there will be a 150m radius around the worksite to minimise any disruption.
