Major Rail Disruption - Power Failure

Thursday 6 August 2026

Rail disruption is expected to last for the rest of this evening, affecting trains across Greater Manchester, the North West of England and the Midlands.

Due to a power failure at Network Rail's Manchester Rail Operating Centre (ROC), there is major disruption on the rail network.

Delays and cancellations are expected on all operator routes across Greater Manchester until the end of today (Thursday 6th August). The latest information can be found on the National Rail website.

Rail ticket acceptance is currently in place on all Bee Network bus services across Greater Manchester and on all Metrolink lines.
