TfGM (UTC) is responsible for the maintenance and operation of traffic signals within Greater Manchester on behalf of the Greater Manchester Combined Authority.
The maintenance duties are undertaken for TfGM by Yunex Traffic who shall be responsible for providing the accredited and trained personnel for the safe switch off, bagging over and return to correct operation of the installation for the benefit of all highway users.
All requests for Bag Over & Switch Off (BASO) shall be made through TfGM as follows:
- For works starting in advance of one week, complete the booking request form and send it to gmutc.switchoff@tfgm.com.
- For short notice of works (starting in less than two full working days) requests should be made by email sent to gmutc.switchoff@tfgm.com. Please also call 0161 244 1523 (Monday – Friday: 8am – 4.30pm).
Anything out of the hours (Monday – Friday: 8am – 4.30pm), please call 0845 600 1220 or 0161 244 1511 (any other time).
This is not a 24 hour service, so if a message is left on the voicemail, please don't assume that the work is arranged. It is the responsibility of the requester to get any confirmation by email or phone.
