Greater Manchester Road Activity Permit Scheme (GMRAPS)

Welcome to GMRAPS

The co-ordination of roadworks is essential to ensure disruption from the works are kept to a minimal. All roadworks will have varying levels of disturbance and the Greater Manchester Road Activity Permit Scheme (GMRAPS) is a scheme for local authorities to assess roadworks before they can be carried out on the highway.

Bus stop closures

Bus stop closures are delivered as a chargeable, statutory support service.

They can facilitate third party works, highway activities, development, safety critical interventions, or other external requirements that require the suspension or removal of a public transport stopping facility.

The charge reflects the recovery of reasonable and proportionate costs incurred in administering, coordinating, implementing, monitoring, and reinstating the closure. The cost also includes operational deployment, asset handling, network coordination, and associated overheads.
