Bus companies offer their own wide range of tickets. However single fares will be no more than £1 for children and £2 for adults if travelling within Greater Manchester. If travelling by bus more than twice in one day, a 1 day AnyBus travelcard may offer better value.

Customers can pay for their journey using cash or card by asking the driver for a single ticket to their destination, or a 1 day AnyBus travelcard which is valid until 3.59am the following day.

Check if you qualify

Anyone can buy this ticket. But, if you are aged 5 to 16, you can buy child tickets for travel on buses.

If you are aged 11 to 16, you will need an igo card as proof of age to buy child tickets. An igo card is a convenient way to have proof of age and it allows you to buy child tickets for longer, up to 31 August after your 16th birthday.

Find out how to apply for an igo card

When you are no longer eligible for igo, you can apply for Our Pass, a scheme for young people aged 16-18, which entitles holders to free travel on local bus services across Greater Manchester. If you live in Greater Manchester, you can find out if you're eligible and apply for Our Pass at the ourpass.co.uk website.

Under-fives travel free, so don't need a travelcard or pass.
