On board

  • Pay the bus driver for single, return and some saver tickets and 'smart' travelcards, including System One tickets to use on a combination of buses, trams and trains.
  • If paying with cash, try and have the right amount, although the driver will usually be able to give you change. You can now pay with contactless cards and devices on many buses, but you should check bus company websites before travelling, like Arriva, Diamond, First Bus, Go North West and Stagecoach.
