How do I know if my bus will be impacted by strike action?
This webpage has all the latest information on industrial action and you can use the lists above to check which buses are not running in your area.
Bus services in Bolton and Wigan are still running, and trams and trains are also running as normal to help you make your journey.
We’re urging all passengers to plan ahead, check before they travel and leave plenty of time for their journeys.
How do I find out if strike action is called off?
We will be keeping this page updated with all the latest information but you can also keep an eye on the Bee Network social media channels and our app for the latest updates.
If you’re not sure about anything, our staff at bus stations and interchanges will be more than happy to help with any questions as well. We’ll have as many staff as possible out on the network to help you.
You can also call the Bee Network Customer Contact Centre on 0161 244 1000. Opening times will be 7am to 8pm on Friday 10 October/Monday 13 October and 8am to 10pm on Saturday 11 October (days of industrial action).
My bus isn’t running, what can I do?
Please check this page or the app for the latest information.
Trains and trams are continuing to operate but may be busier than usual. Bus tickets and passes are being accepted on all trams to help you get where you need to go during strikes.
If you do need to drive, roads may also be busier than usual, so leave some extra time for your journey. If you can, try and avoid travelling at busy times (7-9am and 4-6pm).
Will school bus services be affected?
While we are prioritising dedicated school bus services, some dedicated school bus services will also not run. A list of those affected can be found above. If your child’s dedicated school bus is not running, your school will be in touch.
If your child travels on a normal Bee Network bus, please also check the list above to see if it is running or not.
Child bus tickets will be accepted on trams during strike days to help get your child to school.
Are there any changes to Metrolink and local rail services during the planned days of industrial action?
All Metrolink services will operate as normal during strikes to help you make your journeys.
Local trains will be running as normal.
Before making any journey, please do check and plan ahead.
Will Local Link and Ring and Ride services be affected by this industrial action?
Local Link and Ring and Ride services will be running as usual.
I have a bus 7-day / 28-day / term/annual ticket. Can I use this on tram or train services during industrial action?
Bus passengers with weekly, 28-day, term, or annual passes can use their tickets on all Metrolink trams during strikes.
We do expect trams to be busier than usual so please avoid travelling at peak times where possible (7-9am and 4-6pm).
Bus passengers with weekly, 28-day, term, or annual passes can use their tickets to travel on certain Northern Rail and TransPennine Express trains during the impacted period (Friday to Saturday). Please see train section above for the train services that these tickets will be valid on.
You can use your 7-day and 28-day Bee Bus tickets on all trams and some train services during industrial action. However, if you are unable to travel on alternative modes, you may be entitled to a partial refund on your 7-day or 28-day ticket.
Your ticket will need to have 3 or more days validity remaining for a 7-day ticket and 12 or more days validity remaining for 28-day ticket. Your ticket will be cancelled and a partial refund made.
From 10 October, please get in touch with us by telephone on 0161 244 1000 on the day you wish to cancel your ticket. We are only able to cancel your ticket on the day you want to stop using it (not in the days before or after).
During this strike period (Friday 10 - Saturday 11 October and Monday 13 October) no other refunds are available.
Can I use my TfGM pass (older persons, disabled persons, Our Pass, Care Leavers) on tram?
Yes, TfGM Concessionary passes, including Our Pass and Care Leavers, will be accepted across the tram network at any time on strike days.
I have a 7-day Bus + Tram Zone 1 ticket, will I be able to use it on strike days across the whole of the Metrolink network?
Yes, zone specific bus + tram tickets will be valid across all Metrolink zones during strike action days.
