Ring & Ride accessible minibuses

An accessible, low-cost minibus service for people who have difficulty in using public transport

Ring & Ride

CORONAVIRUS UPDATE - Updated Thursday 3rd September 2020

This service has now resumed as normal, with some restrictions and enhanced safety measures in place. See below for more information.

You must wear a face covering when using the public transport network, including at transport hubs and interchanges, unless you are exempt. If you don’t, you may be unable to travel and you could be fined £100. Please let the contact centre know in advance if you are unable to wear a face covering due to one of the exceptions stated.

  • The service currently operates Monday to Sunday, between 8am and 11pm.
  • The contact centre is open from Monday to Friday, between 8am and 4pm.
  • Assisted journeys have now resumed and passengers using wheelchairs and those requiring physical assistance to board the vehicle will be able to travel. Drivers will be issued with additional PPE as appropriate. For passengers who require physical assistance getting to and/or boarding the vehicle, a wheelchair will be provided and must be used. Please advise when booking if you require physical assistance boarding the vehicle.
  • Seat spacing is now managed to allow a minimum of one metre between passengers. This will increase the maximum capacity to 6 passengers and enable some group bookings to resume. However, wherever possible, passengers will be directed to sit in seats which permit social distancing of two metres between passengers.
  • The use of shopping trolleys is discouraged but if it is essential, arrangements can be made to accommodate them at the rear of the vehicle.
  • Regular bookings of 6 passengers can be requested.
  • Vehicles will continue to be cleaned with sanitised wipes after the last passenger on each trip has alighted.
  • Drivers wear face masks and gloves at all times.
  • If you have to use public transport wear a face covering unless you are exempt, keep your distance from other passengers and clean your hands frequently.
  • Passengers should not travel at all if you are experiencing any coronavirus symptoms, are self-isolating as a result of coronavirus symptoms or sharing a household or support bubble with somebody with symptoms, are clinically extremely vulnerable and live in an area where additional public health measures mean you have been advised to resume shielding (please note this does not currently include Greater Manchester) or have been advised by the NHS test and trace service that you should self-isolate.

Normal fares are now being charged as below. A receptacle will be provided to place fares in to reduce handling cash. Please have the appropriate change ready. Passengers are requested to have correct fare where possible.
