Leigh Sports Village provides state of the art facilities for sport, physical activity, education, health and leisure that serves the whole community.

The centrepiece of the development is a 12,000-capacity stadium, home to professional rugby league team Leigh Leopards and Manchester United Women’s and Under 21’s football teams.

The venue is within a 18 minute walk from Leigh bus station, which is well served by bus routes including the V1 linking Leigh with other destinations across Greater Manchester.

The nearest bus stop to Leigh Sports Village is outside the venue on Sale Way. The 597 operates Monday to Friday from this stop.

Tickets

The Bee Bus single ‘hopper’ ticket costs £2 for adults. You can use this ticket for a single trip. The hopper ticket will also allow you to travel on other Bee Network buses, for no additional cost, within 60 minutes of buying your ticket.

If you need to make several trips, a ticket covering a full day of bus travel in Greater Manchester costs just £5.

Tickets can be purchased by contactless tap and go. Just the one tap when you board. Hop on, tap in, enjoy your journey, then hop off. Alternatively, you can purchase bus tickets from the driver or using the Bee Network app.

Leigh Sports Village is situated 3 minutes from the A580, 8 minutes from M6 Junction 23 (Haydock Park), and 14 minutes from M60 Junction 14.

Please note, local roads surrounding Leigh Sports Village can get very busy on match days so please allow plenty of time for your journey.

Parking

There are over 1000 free car parking spaces available on site, access to these car parks is via Sale Way, situated directly off the A579 Atherleigh Way.

Accessible parking is available on a first come, first serve basis to blue badge holders with no advance bookings for these bays.

Going by bike? The cycle hub at Leigh bus station is a safe and secure place to lock your bike. It is protected by CCTV and a swipe-card entry system. To use it, you will need to register and purchase a cycle hub membership, which will allow you access to other regional cycle hubs too

Fancy taking a stroll? From Leigh bus station it's a 18 minute walk. Proceed to walk down King Street continuing onto St. Helens Road, past ALDI, over the bridge on St. Helens Road and turn right onto Schofield Street.

Continue on Schofield Street and this will bring you to the corner of Marshall Street, at the back of the Leigh Sports Village site.

Approach Turner Way and take the first exit on the roundabout, which will bring to Leigh Harriers Athletics Stadium at the North East corner of the Leigh Sports Village.
