Ashton line works

Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 April

On Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 April, track repair works will take place on the Ashton line.

No tram service between Etihad Campus and Ashton-under-Lyne.
Tram services from Eccles (via MediaCityUK) and Altrincham will operate as far as Etihad Campus.

Replacement buses will serve stops between Piccadilly Gardens and Ashton-under-Lyne to help customers continue their journey.

Please Note: Additional works will take place at Victoria on Sunday [26 April]. From the start of service until 10am, no trams will operate through Victoria to facilitate track repair works.

Saturday 25 April

Services will operate every 15 minutes:

Bury - Piccadilly
Bury - Altrincham (peak times only)
Manchester Airport - Victoria
Rochdale Town Centre - East Didsbury
Shaw & Crompton - East Didsbury (peak times only)
Etihad Campus - Eccles (via MediaCityUK)
Etihad Campus - Altrincham
Trafford Centre - Deansgate-Castlefield

Peak-time only services will operate from 9am - 6.30pm

Sunday 26 April

From start of service until 10am

Services will operate every 15 minutes:

Bury - Victoria
Manchester Airport - Piccadilly
Rochdale Town Centre - Victoria
East Didsbury - Exchange Square
Etihad Campus - Eccles (via MediaCityUK)
Etihad Campus - Altrincham
Trafford Centre - Deansgate-Castlefield

From 10am until end of service

Services will operate every 15 minutes:

Bury - Piccadilly
Manchester Airport - Victoria
Rochdale Town Centre - East Didsbury
Etihad Campus - Eccles (via MediaCityUK)
Etihad Campus - Altrincham
Trafford Centre - Deansgate-Castlefield

Please Note: Due to road closures taking place on Sunday 26 April, replacement buses will be unable to serve stops at Piccadilly Gardens until 2.30pm. Services will terminate at Piccadilly in both directions from the start of service until 2.30pm on Sunday only.

Please Note: Due to a road diversion, towards Ashton-under-Lyne only, the replacement buses are unable to serve Audenshaw tram stop.

Please Note: Due to the location of Etihad Campus tram stop, the replacement buses are unable to serve this stop.

For Etihad Campus, please alight the bus at Holt Town and change for a tram. Alternatively ,you can alight at Velopark and finish your journey via the step-free, well lit and sign-posted CityLink walking route.

Saturday 25 April

04:57 - Piccadilly Gardens to Ashton-under-Lyne

05:32 - Ashton-under-Lyne to Piccadilly Gardens (05:31 & 05:46 - part-route trips starting from Velopark)

Bus services will then operate every 15 minutes.

Last bus

00:27 - Piccadilly Gardens to Ashton-under-Lyne (00:42, 00:57 & 01:12 - part-route trips terminating at Velopark)

01:02 - Ashton-under-Lyne to Piccadilly Gardens

Sunday 26 April

First bus

06:06 - Piccadilly to Ashton-under-Lyne

06:44 - Ashton-under-Lyne to Piccadilly

Bus services will then operate every 15 minutes.

Frequent Bee Network bus services also call at the bus stops near each tram stop. These may provide a faster or cheaper journey option than the replacement bus, depending on your destination.

Please note: Tram tickets are only accepted on the replacement bus and will not be accepted on numbered bus services.

The following Bee Network bus services serve stops on the Ashton line: 7, 53, 76, 76A, 171, 172, 216, 219, 230 and 231.

Please note: The 76A will not operate on Sunday.

Travelling to the Co-op Live Arena for Olivia Dean?

Tram services will continue to operate to Etihad Campus, with a 6-minute frequency between the city centre and Etihad Campus on Saturday, and a 7.5 minute frequency on Sunday.

Please alight the tram at Etihad Campus for the arena.

If you're travelling from Ashton-under-Lyne, please board the replacement bus service and alight at Velopark for a short walking route to the arena.
