Trafford Council are carrying out works on Talbot Road at its junctions with Chester Road and Great Stone Road.
These works will improve the experience of walkers, cyclists and drivers who will all benefit from safer journeys, clearer layouts and more reliable journeys in the area. This work will transform the experiences of those using roads, cycleways and paths.

Works overview
Trafford Council are upgrading cycling and walking facilities on Talbot Road.
Talbot Road and Chester Road
From Monday 11 March, Chester Road will be reduced to one lane in both directions, between Thomas Street and the Talbot Road junction. This will be weekdays only between 9.30am and 3.30pm, so should have minimal impact to your daily commute.
If you're travelling northbound, it will be rolling lane closures, with one lane remaining open at all times until 13 May.
Upcoming overnight closures (from 8pm to 6am)

Phase 1: Tuesday 7 to Thursday 9 May – Northbound closure from Davyhulme Road East to Thomas Street (Tuesday 7 May) and southbound closure from Thomas Street to Christie Road (Wednesday 8 and Thursday 9 May).

Phase 2: Thursday 16 and Friday 17 May - Northbound closure from Davyhulme Road East to Thomas Street.
Diversion will be via Barton Road, Park Road, Mosley Road, Village Way, Wharfside Way, White City Circle.
